If you’re a person looking for a vacation with wellness, health, and meditation, a yoga retreat might be something suitable for you. Let’s say you usually take a holiday abroad or rent a motorhome and drive across the country, but this time, you want something more relaxing, and your goal is to prioritise your health and mindfulness.

In this article, I will show you a list of exciting 3-week yoga retreats that you can do worldwide. Whether you’re looking for something not too far from home or you prefer to fly half across the world, there is something for everyone.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT GOING ON A YOGA RETREAT

Before you jump in and book a random retreat, there are a few things that you should know. Below are tips to help you decide which retreat to join to make sure you get an experience that suits you.

Duration

Most yoga retreats last between a day and up to 4 days. But it’s also common to go to a week’s boot camp. There are 3-week yoga retreats available. However, usually, those are people who are looking to get certified in yoga and/or meditation.

Unless you’re looking to be a yoga instructor, you don’t need to book an entire 20-day retreat. Instead, book a few days here and a few days there. Visiting multiple retreats will also help you compare each class and figure out which style you like the most, espsecially if this is your first time.

Location

When choosing a location, it depends on many things such as your budget, how much time you have, your preferred style, and how far you’re willing or want to travel from your home.

There are plenty of retreats in Europe, North America, and Latin America. However, those looking for a more intimate or authentic experience enjoy travelling all the way to Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, and Thailand.

Cost

The cost of a 3-week yoga retreat depends on a few things, such as the location. The ones located in South Asia or Southeast Asia are often more affordable than those venues in Europe, North America, or Latin America.

Another thing to consider is the instructor. There are well-known instructors that are more expensive than the others. The inclusions also affect the cost of the retreat, which I will discuss below.

Inclusions

Speaking of inclusions, some yoga boot camps offer a few things, such as accommodation, food, spas, and other services. The longer the list of inclusions, the price could be higher.

On the other hand, if the venue is in a popular area or near a city, you can book a hotel or accommodation nearby and go to the location daily. This also applies to arranging your transport and going to different restaurants every day.

Some people prefer an all-inclusive while others don’t. There’s really no better way or the correct option.

Language

One more important thing to remember is the language being used during the retreat. Most retreats will be in English, but in some cases, such as those located in Latin America, Spanish might be an option. Just make sure to inquire about this beforehand.

Visa

Finally, the visa requirements. This is vital when it comes to those booking a yoga retreat outside their home country or current country. You have to check if you need to apply for a visa beforehand or if the visa you’re receiving is valid for the duration of your boot camp.

Other travel tips

The websites below can help you arrange your trip such as airport transfer, domestic flights, buses, and even travel insurance.
